New Hampshire-based journalist and travel writer Dan Szczesny will host a presentation on “Living the Traveling Life” about travels around the world at 6:30 p.m. May 7 at the Old Forge Library.
Szczesny will read from his travel books, show slides from his work, answer questions and cover common travel issues such as how to eat, how not to get stick, and how to prepare for culture shock. Destinations have included Hong Kong, the Grand Canyon, Nepal, northern England, Quebec City and the White Mountains, among others. His books include travelogues on Nepal, Alaska, and the White Mountains.
Szczesny is a Hemingway Foundation finalist for short fiction and has also written a collection of short stories and of poetry. He’s traveled widely throughout the country speaking about adventure travel and the importance of getting kids into the outdoors.
